The Bike to the Sea Day ride is on Sunday, June 3
The Melrose Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee invites Melrosians to meet at 7:50 am (leave promptly at 8am) at the corner of Main an East Foster for an informal bike convoy to the ride’s start at the Madeline English School, 105 Woodville St. in Everett.
The Bike to the Sea has a 14-mile roundtrip family ride and a 20-mile roundtrip ride to Nahant Beach, followed by lunch at the Dockside Restaurant on Centre Street in Malden. Comfortable pace, very family-friendly. There are police escorts for the portions of the ride that are on the road.
Starting the ride in Melrose adds 3 miles to the ride on each end.
The ride starts at 9 a.m. Registration is available online (includes lunch) or participants can register the day of the ride starting at 8:30 a.m.
- Parts of the trail are unpaved, so wider tires are recommended.
- Helmets required.
- Riders 8 and up allowed. Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is a lot of fun and supports a great cause – completing the community path from Everett through Malden to Nahant Beach.
